About Tsaocaa

Located at 5871 Forbes Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217, Tsaocaa operates as a bubble tea shop serving Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Tea in the United States covers everything from a traditional Chinese or Japanese tea house to a Southern sweet-tea counter, and the fastest-growing segment is bubble tea: Taiwanese-style milk teas and fruit teas with tapioca pearls, sold by chains and independents alike with adjustable sugar and ice levels. Tea rooms serving afternoon tea with scones and sandwiches usually require a reservation, while boba shops, juice bars and smoothie shops are walk-in and quick. Kava and kombucha bars are a newer category, and loose-leaf tea stores sell blends, teaware and gifts, often with a tasting counter. Prices for a drink run similar to coffee-shop prices, with premium teas and cold-pressed juices at the high end.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 11:30 am–9:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Tsaocaa at (412) 421-8888; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Got a taro bubble tea 50% sugar with oat milk & it had a weird grainy white substance in it and did NOT taste like taro at all. Also, got Thai tea bubble tea 30% sugar…terrible idea it was extremely bitter & it maybe had oat milk, it didn’t say on the label even though I asked for it. I’ve never been to a place that you choose your sugar. I can see the pros of that but also I experienced the cons of it because idk what it’s gonna taste like especially since it’s my 1st time there

They have non dairy milk! (Soy and oat). I didn’t see this until after I had placed my order. I happened to notice one of the employees opening a carton of oat milk while I was waiting for my order which prompted me to return to the menu and scroll through looking for non-dairy milk options. It was confusing to find it Because it was listed under the “milk tea” section. So if you scroll down to the milk tea section and select your drink, under one of the drop-down menus, it says milk options, and then you can choose oat or soy. There is no up-charge, which is great. I Hadn’t bothered to look for any non-dairy milk options because it doesn’t seem to be very common at bubble tea shops. I know there is one in Lawrenceville that offers non-dairy milk. Lawrenceville is not very convenient to get to on the bus. will definitely return to get another drink with or soy. It’s also worth it to know, when you order if you need something dairy free, make sure to select “0% milk foam”. I also like to have the option to choose the amount of sweetener and ice level for your drink.

Tsaocha is a pretty standard franchise, but they offer a great variety of drinks. Their boba tea, milk tea, and fruit and floral teas are all quite good. The original boba milk tea is solid, and I was especially impressed by the peach popping boba—they burst nicely in your mouth. The cheese foam add-on is also amazing and definitely worth trying. They don’t have much seating in the shop, so I’d recommend planning for takeout

You can order at kiosks where you can give very detailed edits to your individual orders including percentage of sweetness, adding on specific types of boba or jelly, etc. The macaroons were delicious also. They have been busy every time I walked by... it's like the starbucks of bubble tea and I mean that in a positive sense.
